And Im off to a running (walking) start!

I'm going to try and blog my experience training for a 5K run.  Now, if you know me, you know my exercise regimen is a big goose egg.  I work full time, am raising my son, trying to keep my sanity with my teenage daughter in the house...and sometimes on weekends pull shifts as a waitress at the local yacht club.  And I have the most patient boyfriend on earth who is walking the insanity that is my life with me. that's the basics on my life for the past 3 years.  Not much time for working out :).....How did I get myself into a 5K run?  A few of my coworkers asked if anyone would like to join them for the "Run for Your Lives" 5K obstacle/zombie chase/run. It will be fun they said. So, of course, I jumped on the bandwagon.......and almost immediately wanted to jump back off!  After sleeping on it for a night, I decided it would be pretty cool to be able to say (at the ripe old age of 41) that I did it!  I ran a 5K, was, chased by zombies, completed and obstacle course AND laughed my a$$ off with some good friends.  All in one day!  So today I started training.   Hard core (ha ha) walking for 45 minutes.  My knees are OK, my hips yelped here and there, but I did SOMETHING good for my body.  Tomorrow I will do something good for my body.  That is my mantra for now.  Each day I will get stronger, and more determined to "do this".
